Dylan's second album after converting to Christianity, Saved doesn't kick things off with anything as great as "Gotta Serve Somebody," but it does have the title cut and "Solid Rock," which don't so much resurrect the old days as point to Dylan's knack for playing with genres. As with Slow Train Coming, the dwindling of his fanbase is palpable, but you can be sure that he didn't care at all. More a joyful celebration of his faith, this doesn't have the apocalyptic bent his other two Christian records drip with: It's the New Morning of his born-again albums.
