1970: Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac records a slew of live recordings over a three-day stint at the Boston Tea Party. Yet the band is about to fall part -- and sounds like it. Inspired by the Dead's acid-fueled improv, the mercurial Green pushes his mates into several grinding, psych-blues marathons, including a 25-minute "Rattlesnake Shake." And when he and his protege Danny Kirwan aren't ripping ear-splitting, soul-piercing axe solos, Green descends into a moody rumination on paranoia. "Jumping at Shadows," indeed.
