Acerca de Nancy Harrow
Compelling jazz singer Nancy Harrow had a shot with her 1960 debut Wild Women Don't Have the Blues and released a couple of albums on the Hard Bop-friendly Atlantic Label before taking over a decade off to raise a family. She resurfaced in the late '70s, building on her already formidable Billie Holiday-meets-Anita O'Day style. Her latest albums often feature the always compelling arrangements of Bob Brookmeyer and offer a good mix of the less obvious standards, but Lost Lady (1993) found her singing an arty collection of songs based on the work of Willa Cather.
