They may indeed have what it takes to win. The third album from Puerto Rico's freshest young salseros sees Gerardo Rivas and Norberto Velez hitting their stride and showing their versatility (with, of course, ballads). The album was recorded entirely in Puerto Rico, and they use their live band throughout, which gives these recordings an incessant and unstudied -- if not entirely original -- swing. Composer Jorge Hernandez, who was behind Gilberto Santa Rosa's "Conteo Regresivo" and El Gran Combo's "Arroz Con Habichuela," wrote the first single, "Ella Menea."
